When to shoot
At sunrise, with warm light, an empty square and no lines — the exact time depends on when the sun comes up. Or at night, from 4:00 a.m., before dawn, with the Colosseum lit up.
The experience
The Colosseum is at its best when you wake up early. At sunrise the square is empty, the golden light caresses the arches, and the dress can flow without crowds. At true night, before sunrise, the monuments are still illuminated: fewer people, theatrical atmosphere, warm streetlamp light.
