The best-preserved monument from antiquity. The square is small and chaotic during the day — but before sunrise, with the illuminated facade, it becomes a cinematic stage.
When to shoot
At night, from 4:00 a.m., before dawn, with the facade lit up. Or at sunrise, before the square fills up — the exact time depends on when the sun comes up. We don't recommend the Pantheon during the day: the square is too crowded and the monument stays in shadow until mid-morning.
The experience
The Pantheon before sunrise is our best-kept secret. Daytime is too crowded; in the hours before first light, the square is essentially empty, the facade turns cream under the streetlamps, and every shot looks like a magazine cover. We use portable lights to illuminate the dress without flattening the facade.
